Micromachining (micrOscope) Case Study

Customer was facing poor tool life and chatter with a standard competitor's tools.
VARGUS engineers offered a special Microscope style insert for M12x.75 External Thread inside a face groove.

The custom made tool finished a complete batch of 550 components and was good to continue for the next. 
Competitor's tool only lasted for only 20 parts with poor finish.

Gear Millling vs. Hobbing Case Study

Customer was facing high costs and no control over the process as they were having to sub the work out to an external company to produce the gear with a costly gear hobbinh machine. 
VARGUS offered a standard Gear Milling holder with a special insert for the gear part.
Results have been fantastic and the customer was very happy with the cycle time and finish achieved as it looks much better than the hobbing.
