SHAVIV - Blades

Wide variety of blades for any type of deburring application

SHAVIV blades and chamfers are available in a wide variety of shapes and materials - including HSS, cobalt-enriched, carbide, and diamond - as well as dedicated blades for left-handed users. Whatever the workpiece, the application, or the edge to be finished, there is a Shaviv blade designed for it.

The range also includes cost-effective TiN (titanium nitride) coated blades, which offer up to five times the tool life of standard, non-coated blades - a significant advantage in high-volume production environments.

With such a broad selection, finding the right blade may seem daunting.

In practice, selecting the right Shaviv blade is easy:

Step 1: Choose your application
Step 2: Select your workpiece material
Step 3: Select the best blade for your job

Within minutes, you'll have the right blade for clean, precise, and efficient deburring — every time!

Blade Materials

Deburring requirements vary with the material being worked, which is why Shaviv blades are available in a range of materials and coatings.
Our standard HSS blades cover the majority of applications, while specialized options — cobalt, carbide, diamond, and TiN-coated — are designed for more demanding workpieces such as stainless steel, hardened steel, cast iron, and glass.

The overview below will help you select the right blade for your application.

  • HSS

Our standard and most popular blades. Made from high-speed steel, they provide dependable cutting performance across most common materials and are the recommended starting point for general deburring work.

  • Cobalt (S)

Enriched with 5% cobalt for greater hardness and heat resistance. These blades are the preferred choice for stainless steel, where they offer considerably longer tool life than standard HSS.

  • Carbide (C)

Designed for materials beyond the reach of HSS. Carbide blades retain their cutting edge in Hardened Steel and Cast Iron, ensuring consistent results in demanding applications.

  • Diamond (D)

Our hardest blade material, intended for glass and carbide workpieces. Where conventional blades are unsuitable, diamond provides the necessary hardness and edge retention.

  • TiN Coated (P)

HSS blades finished with a titanium nitride coating that reduces friction and wear. The coating significantly extends tool life, making these blades particularly well suited to high-volume production.

Materials

Shaviv hand deburring tools are trusted across a wide range of industrial sectors, from precision machining to large-scale production. They perform reliably on virtually any material - metals, plastics, composites, and more - making them a versatile deburring solution for nearly every industry and application. The overview below covers the main materials Shaviv tools are used on.

Steel
The most common deburring application. Shaviv tools remove burrs from machined steel parts quickly and cleanly, leaving a smooth, finished edge.

Aluminum
A soft, easily worked metal. Shaviv tools deburr aluminum parts cleanly and efficiently, producing smooth edges without marking or damaging the surface.

Copper
Soft and ductile, copper requires a controlled cut. Shaviv tools remove burrs smoothly while preserving the integrity of the workpiece.

Brass
Brass machines easily but burrs readily. Shaviv tools clean up brass edges quickly, leaving a precise, polished result.

Cast Iron
An abrasive material that wears down conventional blades. With carbide blades, Shaviv tools deliver consistent, long-lasting performance on cast iron parts.

Hardened Steel
Too hard for standard blades. Fitted with carbide blades, Shaviv tools maintain a sharp cutting edge and produce clean results even on hardened workpieces.

Plastics
Shaviv tools remove burrs and flash from plastic parts smoothly and precisely, without melting, chipping, or stressing the material.

Carbide & Glass
The hardest workpieces of all. With diamond blades, Shaviv tools handle carbide and glass where no other blade material can.

Wood
Beyond metals and plastics, Shaviv tools are also effective on wood, trimming edges and removing splinters for a clean, smooth finish.
